DIMENSION

日本を代表するインストゥルメンタルグループ、DIMENSION。1992年6月、アルバム「Le Mans」でデビュー。これまでに31枚のオリジナルアルバムをリリース。それぞれの作品の音楽的評価は高く、日本のインストゥルメンタルシーンを切りひらき、数多くのフォロワーを生み出し続けている。ライブ活動もその高い演奏能力を存分に披露し、ジャンルを限定しないクラブ等におけるパフォーマンスや、国内外のフェスティバルイベントにも積極的に参加(韓国SEOUL JAZZ FESTIVALや東京JAZZ、代々木第一体育館でのCROSS OVER JAPAN等)。国内のアーティストだけでなく海外アーティストとも多数共演をしている。2008年2月には韓国で初のワンマンライブを大成功に収めた。近年DIMENSIONの活動としてはもちろん、個々のスタジオミュージシャンやプロデューサーとしての活動も、各方面から注目を浴びている。2020年、増崎孝司と勝田一樹の二人組としての新体制での活動継続を発表した。

DIMENSION is a instrumental group who represents Japan. They debuted on June 1992 with the Album “Le Mans”. They have released 31 original albums in total. Their every work gets highly rated which created an instrumental scene in Japan. Their followers are continuously growing. Not limiting to certain genre, they also perform on Clubs and festivals in and out of Japan. (Like KOREA SEOUL JAZZ FESTIVAL, TOKYO JAZZ, and CROSS OVER JAPAN which was held at Yoyogi 1^st Gymnasium) Not just only with the artist in Japan, they also collaborated with many artists outside the country. They also made their first one man show in Korea on February 2008. Not just as a member of DIMENSION, every member also works as a studio musician and musical producer. In year 2020, they continued with 2 members who are composed of Takashi Masuzaki and Kazuki Katsuta.

80年代中期にプロとして活動を始め、これまでに数多くのアーティストのライブサポートやレコーディングに参加する。1990年『Speaks』、翌年『Escape』のソロアルバム発表。1992年にインストゥルメンタルグループ『DIMENSION』結成。以降リーダーをつとめる。個性ある音作りと柔軟なギターワークには定評があり、そのサウンドは数多くのギタリストに影響を与える。2003年にはギタリスト矢堀孝一氏とのコラボレイトアルバム『月』をリリース。2005年はB’z松本孝弘のレーベル『House Of Strings』より発売された、映画音楽をギターミュージックで綴ったAL『Theatre Of Strings』に参加。老若男女、ジャンルを問わず幅広いギタープレイをスタイルに持つ。2011年、ソロデビュー20年を記念して『In and out』をリリース。

Born on December 8, 1962 at Nagasaki Prefecture

In middle of 80’s, he started his work as professional musician. He participated at recordings and concert support members on various artists. He announced his solo album release which is “Speaks” in year 1990 and “Escape” on the next year. He created the instrumental group “DIMENSION” in year 1992. He became the leader of the group since then. His unique sound and guitar play influenced many guitar players. In year 2003, he released a collaboration album “Tsuki” with the guitarist Koichi Yabori. He also participated on the Album “Theatre Of Strings” which was released from B’z Takahiro Matsumoto’s label “House Of Strings”. His _guitar play which is not limited to any genre is his style. To celebrate his 20^th anniversary on solo debut, he released “In and out” on 2011.

その奏でる音色は一聴して分かる様に唯一無二の存在感を放ち、彼の影響を受けたサックスプレイヤーは後を絶たない。アルトサックスプレイヤーとして、アンサンブルの中に溶け込む力強さと優しさを調和させたそのスタイルに加え、様々なアーティストでのレコーディングにおいてはブラスセクションのアレンジ力も高い評価を得ている。ソロ活動として勝田自身プロデュース、『JAFROSAX』名義でアルバムを4枚リリース。国内外及び多ジャンルにまたがり大好評を得る。2014年には待望の初のソロアルバム『Kazuki Katsuta』をリリース。このアルバムはAMAZONジャズチャート、itunesジャズチャート、オリコンジャズチャート日本人アーティストの全ての1位を獲得した。これまでに3枚のソロアルバムをリリースしてソロ活動も精力的に行なっている。

The timbre of his play and his unique presence made influence on many Sax players. As an alto saxophone player, the style that which is his strength and kindness that blends ensemble. He has also gained a high reputation for arranging the brass section when recording with various artists. In his solo work, he released 4 albums with the project “JAFROSAX” which is produced by himself. In year 2014, he released his first solo album “Kazuki Katsuta”. This album got a number 1 rank at AMAZON jazz chart, iTunes Jazz chart and Oricon Jazz chart within Japanese artists. He released 3 albums in total and continuously work as a solo.
